Mission Statement:
To increase awareness about the role of elected officials at all levels of government and how their decisions shape our communities, with the goal of fostering informed participation and increasing voter education and turnout.
Vision Statement:
A future where voter participation is high, communities are informed and engaged, and our democracy is more representative and responsive to the people it serves.
We're Here For:
Individuals across all demographics, including those who feel disengaged or disillusioned with politics
Why It Matters:
New Mexico faces persistent civic gaps. Turnout is below national averages, civic knowledge is low, and trust in institutions is declining. Many communities lack easy, culturally resonant ways to learn about the democratic process.
Many efforts stop at voter registration or turnout. While essential, these tend to be short-term pushes. Few build lasting local leadership or civic literacy pipelines.
This movement complements existing work. We strengthen the entire civic ecosystem by preparing engaged, informed voters who participate year-round, not just at election time.
We centers local relationships. Especially in New Mexico’s tight-knit communities, neighbors and family are the most trusted sources. Our model activates those networks.
What makes this project different:
A scalable peer-to-peer model. We don’t just register voters — we create trusted messengers who become local civic educators. Like a pyramid, participants train and recruit others, creating organic growth.
Meeting people where they are. We’re hosting bilingual, community-centered workshops and outreach events, making it easier for people to understand local issues, voting deadlines, and how to navigate the process.
Creative toolkits + social media + local workshops. We combine on-the-ground training with digital materials people can easily share in their circles, reaching beyond traditional networks.
Builds long-term civic culture. Our “ladder of engagement” doesn’t end with one vote. It moves people from curious to confident to active local leaders — growing capacity in historically underrepresented communities.
